Have a date coming up or just looking for a new spot to try with your friends? No worries! Today kicks off Black Owned Restaurant Month. From Sept 9th to Sept 30th ( on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays only), multiple black owned eateries all over NY are offering three course meals for just $35.
What started off as a creative way to showcase black owned businesses, created by Genese Jamilah of I Don’t Do Clubs and Ebony, has grown into so much more. Black Owned Restaurant Month has now expanded to D.C. and ATL!
I’ll be checking out a few restaurants for upcoming “Good Eats” posts. I’m looking forward to trying out my newfound Beyonce inspired “veganism” at Seasoned Vegan tonight!
In the meantime, checkout the list (courtesy of I Don’t Do Clubs) of restaurants participating in Black Owned Restaurant Month below:
In the Harlem Area:
The Edge
BLVD Bistro
Chocolat Restaurant Lounge
LoLo’s Seafood Shack
Seasoned Vegan
In the Brooklyn Area:
Sweet Science
Therapy Wine Bar
Shane’s Brooklyn
Rustik Tavern
Milk River
Elberta Restaurant and Bar
The Crabby Shack
Amarachi
* One gem I found on this list, that unfortunately isn’t participating in Black Owned Restaurant Month, is Action Burger. Located in Brooklyn, Action Burger is a comic book/superhero themed restaurant that hosts anime, comic book, and video game meet-ups!
What restaurants are you looking forward to hitting up? Let me know in the comment section!
